I didn't know this keyboard lites up , it's perfect feels smooth amd responsive, but can be purchased for 1/2 the price 50 bucks on Amazon . Thats why I say I wouldn't recommend to a friend , not because of the keyboard but because u can get the exact se thing for half the price on Amazon

It is so much the perfect addition to a Surface that Microsoft should be shamed, that they don't automatically include it, or offer it at a super discount when bundled. This turns the tablet into an actual functioning laptop. I'm writing this now on it. The best detachable/portable keyboard you can get. The fuzzy material feels great. Solid keystroke. Yes it is small. That is the point. But it still is a full keyboard and it works great. If you're buying a Surface for any work or typing than this is a mandatory accessory

After getting the wrong one, this easily attached to my Surface Pro. I love it!
